About Christian Coaching

History

The Center for the Advancement of Christian Coaching began as an informal relationship among several coach trainers in the fall of 2006. As they discussed the burgeoning Christian coaching movement, they began to see a need for an umbrella organization that would provide universally accepted standards and norms for distinctively Christian coaching, by providing the best training, support and resources for Christian coaches. In early 2007, CACC was officially formed, and immediately began providing training, speaking and consulting services to clients across the United States.

Vision

Our vision is to be a leader in the worldwide Christian coaching movement, and for Christian coaching to be a highly regarded people-helping profession.

Mission

Our mission is to advance the Christian coaching movement by providing everything Christian coaches need for exceptional and lasting impact.

Values/Guiding Principles

    • Christian Worldview

    • All we do is based upon a distinctively Christian worldview, which guides how we view others and develop relationships, how we do business, and how we train others to coach and lead.

    • Team Leadership

    • CACC is led by an in-house leadership team. Additionally, many individuals have had, and continue to have, significant input into the growth and development of CACC. Finally, we intentionally develop collaborative relationships with other leaders in the Christian coaching movement.

    • Excellence

    • Our standard of operations is excellence. If at any time we fail to meet our standard of excellence, we’ll take full responsibility and continue to work at it until we get it right.

    • Superior Customer Service

    • Customers and clients can expect superior customer service from CACC. Those who interact with us at any level will be treated with respect, warmth, and extraordinary attentiveness.

    • Equip and Release

    • Our passion is to equip others to have incalculable positive influence on others through coaching. Our greatest joy comes from seeing those we train and serve grow personally and professionally, and become abundantly successful in what they have been created to be and do.

    • Definition of Coaching

    • At CACC, we believe that coaching is a one-to-one, structured relationship in which a trained coach partners with a client for growth, change and forward-moving progress in the life of the client. The coaching relationship provides for the client a regular, safe, encouraging and Christ-centered forum to: 1) explore and clarify personal and professional values; 2) create specific action plans for achieving goals and pursuing dreams; and 3) wrestle through life and leadership challenges.

    • Coaching as a Profession

    • For Christian coaching to have maximum long-term impact, it must attain the status of “profession.” Christian coaches must be extensively trained and held to rigorous and ongoing professional certification standards.

    • International Coach Federation (ICF) Coaching Competencies and Ethics

    • CACC fully endorses ICF coaching competencies and ethical standards. All of our coach training programs are designed to meet or exceed ICF standards.
